Its work involves the precipitation of inorganic salts in the petroleum industry, addressing kinetic and thermodynamic aspects of salt precipitation, as well as studying the behavior under low pressure systems. The laboratory works with the processing of salt in aqueous systems, and for that, it has the capacity to develop processes involving inorganic salts (scales) in the oil industry. This area seeks to study the kinetics and efficiency of salt scaling inhibitors; the study of gas solubility in liquid mixtures; and the development of spectroscopic, microscopic, and electrochemical methodologies and tools for the kinetic and thermodynamic study of salt precipitation.
