The Institute of Technology and Research (ITP) has a technical team to carry out studies in the environmental area, such as the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) and the Environmental Impact Report (RIMA), accompanied by the Simplified Environmental Impact Reports (RAS). In a constant effort for scientific and technological development, we have established partnerships with other notable institutions and companies both in Brazil and abroad.
ITP has a laboratory that is accredited by the INMETRO’s NBR ISO/IEC 17025/2005 standard – specifically for test laboratories – and equipped to carry out physical-chemical and microbiological analyses in water and liquid waste, aimed at identifying contaminants, as well as providing information to help maintain the quality of water treatment processes and effluents used by companies and individuals, especially in accordance with Conama resolutions and Annex XX of Consolidation Ordinance 05/17 of the Health Ministry.
The high standard of work performed in the environmental sector has given the ITP a responsibility to act as a national coordinator for the Environmental Monitoring Network and lead a work group of 16 laboratories spread across 11 institutions throughout the country. The institute is also part of the Sanitation and Water Supply Network.
